Drift Away is a 1995 Bayliner 2655 Cierra Express cruiser. She was a one-owner boat when I purchased her from a family in Pennsylvania in February 2005. Without any practical experience, I spent my early 20s’s learning about boats and boating and months searching for the “perfect” for me boat. When I boarded this 2655, I knew this was the one. It passed a marine and engine survey with flying colors and I took possession in March 2005.
We’ve been enjoying Drift Away for almost 15 years now. She has been to the panhandle of Florida, on the Mississippi River in New Orleans, and has traveled over 1200 miles on the ICW. Most of her time is spent on Smith Mountain Lake in Southwest Virginia. For the last 15 years, we’ve managed to resist “Two Foot-Itis”, instead we’ve spent lots of time making Drift Away (almost) exactly how we want her.
In May 2019, we continued to resist “Two Foot-Itis” and jumped from 26ft to 38 ft and purchased a 2006 Regal Commodore 3560 from Table Rock Lake in Missouri. Since purchasing her, we have enjoyed her twin engines, cold A/C and spacious design.
